Bard College moved from WebCT to Moodle, an open-source learning management system, in 2007-08. Bard is a member of the CLAMP (College Liberal Arts Moodle Project) consortium.

Bard ATS currently supports approximately
250-275 Moodle course sites each semester.

What is MOODLE?

It is the largest non-proprietary, open-source learning management system (LMS) in the world; it has been free and community supported since its release in 2001. Moodle has been described as “Linux of the LMS world.”

What is CLAMP?

“The Collaborative Liberal Arts Moodle Project (CLAMP) is a group of colleges and universities who collaborate to develop and support Moodle, with an eye toward the issues unique to a liberal arts environment.”
